ABOut PILATUS

The Pilatus PC-12 made its first flight in 1991, and is widely recognised as Pilatus’ best-selling aircraft.

Named after Mount Pilatus in the Swiss Alps, Pilatus was founded in 1939 in Stans, Switzerland, and their original purpose was completing maintenance and performing repair work for the Swiss Air Force. Today they are still recognised as best-in-class aircraft that “emulate the strength, power and beauty of the Alps.”

In May 2021 Pilatus produced its 1,800th PC-12 series aircraft, a PC-12 NGX. The NGX was the third significant progression of the PC-12 airframe, and was first introduced in 2010.

It is the industry’s most advanced, versatile single-engine turboprop. The aircraft features an enhanced engine, improved avionics, and a completely redesigned cabin. First deliveries of the PC-12 NGX commenced in 2020

“Icons are Forged One Aircraft at a Time. Versatile. Safe. Reliable. Proven. These are terms operators of PC-12s frequently use to describe their aircraft, and why so many people around the world trust the PC-12 to fly their families, employees, customers and critical cargo. Add comfort, quality, efficiency and time savings to the list of benefits for those who travel on the world’s most popular single-engine business aircraft. High residual values, low operating costs, and proven safe operation of over seven million flight hours and over 1,700 aircraft easily explain why the PC-12 has earned an untarnished reputation as one of the best investments in business aviation. Encapsulating all the advantages of the new PC-12 NGX within a single word is nearly impossible – but iconic seems fitting.

While Pilatus’ headquarters are located in Switzerland at Stans near Buochs Airport, Pilatus has an independent Business Aircraft subsidiary in Broomfield, Colorado.

This operation performs the majority of completion work on PC-12 aircraft made in Stans as well as developing marketing, sales, and service for North America and South America.
