CASSIO: MODULAR HYBRID-ELECTRIC
As the world increasingly demands air transportation solutions with less emissions and lower noise, innovative new approaches are needed – particularly for regional routes already lacking coverage.
VoltAero’s Cassio hybrid-electric aircraft offers a new mode of short- and medium- haul transportation that opens access to more communities in less time, enhancing mobility and alleviating road congestion problems – all in a safe and environmentally friendly way, and at lower cost.
The family of modular Cassio aircraft accommodates from four to 10 seats, equipped with VoltAero’s patented hybrid propulsion module that provides dual levels of safety from the combined power of electric motors and thermal engines.

AIRPLANE A LA CARTE
With its excellent flight performance characteristics, the highly capable and reliable Cassio is tailored for a variety of applications, from commercial flights in point-to-point regional travel to air taxi/charter operations and utility-category missions (cargo, postal delivery, medical evacuation, etc.).
As a versatile general aviation airplane, Cassio also will be valued by private owners and flight training schools.
VoltAero has designed Cassio for operation by a single pilot, certified as a single-engine airplane to Europe’s CS-23 specification for normal, utility and commuter aircraft.
Its takeoff and landing distance of less than 1,800 feet opens Cassio’s access to regional, rural and local airports, while the fast cruise speed (200 knots/360 km. hr.) ensures the aircraft covers route distances of up to 1,200 kilometers rapidly and efficiently.

REGIONAL AIR MOBILITY
In developing Cassio, VoltAero is creating an ecosystem to foster the emergence of hybrid-electric aviation for regional air mobility. The company has teamed with French infrastructure operator Edeis for resources that include airport and airspace support services, along with customer interface.
U.S.-based KinectAir is developing a flexible on- demand flight network for fleets of Cassio aircraft, utilizing an artificial intelligence-enabled smartphone application.

SETTING NEW AVIATION STANDARDS WITH A TOP-FLIGHT TEAM
VoltAero’s low-risk approach in evolving the Cassiofamily, includes the use of its Cassio 1 flying testbed to validate the company’s proprietary hybrid propulsion module, and the creation of an industrial team that brings expertise in design, development, systems integration, certification and production.
